PHN1504.12
About
Made in one week for Weekly Game Jam 206 with the theme: "Clockwork".
With the clock, you have the ability to stop time. Use it to avoid obstacles and escape the tower.
Controls
Use your RETURN/ENTER key to pass through menu scenes. Use your ARROW KEYS to move around rooms. Once you've collected the clock. use the SPACE KEY to activate it.
This game also works pretty good with Xbox controllers. Use the left stick for movement and face buttons to skip scenes and activate the clock.
Credits
- The clock face on the start screen and cover art is "Uhr". It was sourced from CC Search and has been marked CC0 1.0.
- The clock activation sound effect was adapted from "Small clock fast tick tock.flac" by TRP. It was sourced from Freesound and has been marked CC0 1.0.
- The background music is "Chapel of Hate" by FoxSynergy. It was sourced from Open Game Art and has been marked CC-BY 3.0. No changes were made.
- The fire at the end of the game is "Fire/Flame" by KerteX_. It was sourced from Open Game Art and is marked CC0 1.0.
- Text throughout the game uses the fonts: Kenney Mini, Kenney Mini Square and Kenney Pixel Square. The Kenney Fonts set is marked with CC0 1.0.
- The pretty gradient skybox is made possible thanks to Alex Strook's free gradient shader.
- In addition to the above resources, much time was spent perusing the history of pocket watches on Wikipedia. It lead me to Peter Henlein's PHN1505 which is widely regarded as the first pocket watch.

Feedback:
*Time stopping mechanics are not exactly unique to video games, but I believe this game used it in an interesting manner enough to differentiate it from other games. I liked the research that was put in to the game.
*The visuals were pleasant enough. I liked the aesthetic, although it did seem too simple.
*The music was good. The sound effects were decent too, but there was a bullet sound effect that was too loud (caused a jumpscare for me).
*The gameplay is decent. I wish there was a better tutorial however. I was confused on how to reach the different levels. I also do not understand the purpose of going back to rooms that I have already been in.
